Mrs Julia Mannion (f)

Advanced Nurse Practitioner

I qualifed as a Registered General Nurse in 1992 and worked mainly in acute medicine until joining the Royal Air Force in 1993. During my time in the RAF, I worked in acute medicine, coronary care and oncology before moving into primary care in 1995. I gained several post graduate qualifications including asthma and allergy management, family planning, coronary heart disease management, aeromedical evacuation and gained the title of specialist practitioner in primary care. In 2005 I also qualified as an independant nurse prescriber. In 2008 I was awared a BSc hons degree from City University London. In 2016 I was awarded MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice from Lincoln University.

I have worked at Church Walk Surgery since 2007 and my current role is Advanced Nurse Practitioner involves dealing with acute illnesses, chronic diseases and I also have a special interest in women's health.


Sister Vicky Arch (f)

Specialist Practice Nurse

I completed my nurse training at Sir Gordon Roberts's school of Nursing in Northampton and qualified as an RGN in 1995, following which I worked in General Surgery at Kettering General Hospital. In 1997 I moved to Germany and worked for the British Army in general practice, obtaining a diploma in Asthma management in 1998.

After moving back to the UK I continued working in General Practice in both military and civilian medical centres, during which time I further trained to obtain diplomas, in Diabetic management (2000) Coronary Care and Heart disease (2004) and COPD management (2010).
Additionally, in 2009 I completed an honours degree in health studies with a Specialist Award in General Practice at Bangor University.
In 2013 I became a Non-Medical prescriber.

My current role involves managing patients with Diabetes. Also, I manage patients who have had a cardiac event in the past, along with supporting colleagues in managing COPD/CKD.  I also see patients with minor illness along with some treatment room duties including cervical cytology, wounds and Spirometry testing (ARTP qualification 2018).

Practice Nurse

I studied Adult Nursing through the University of Nottingham and qualified in 2014, I have worked in primary care ever since. My current role includes; cervical smears, wound management, childhood immunisation, travel health, contraception, hormone therapy, spirometry testing and management of long term conditions.
